(cookie policy)

Two cookiesin here, if you say yes.

I use Google Analytics to understand which pages get read, but it doesn't start on its own: it starts only if you accept it in the banner you see on your first visit, and it stays off until you do. If you refuse or don't choose, the site neither writes nor reads any statistics cookie. This page says what happens in both cases.

What you can check for yourself

Open your browser's developer tools and look at the storage tab for andreaveramonti.it. If you haven't chosen yet or you refused, the list of cookies is empty and the network tab shows no request to Google. If you accepted, you will find two Google Analytics cookies: _ga, which lasts two years, and _ga_<identifier>, which lasts just as long and keeps the state of the browsing session.

02

What Google Analytics does, if you accept it

It counts pages viewed, where you come from and on which device, in aggregate form: it doesn't ask you for a name and doesn't cross these data with other sites. Google processes your IP address only to estimate the approximate geographic area and then discards it, without keeping it in a form that identifies you — this is the basic behaviour of Google Analytics 4, the one active on this site.

The legal basis is the consent you give by clicking “Accept”: article 6.1.a of the Regulation (GDPR) and article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code. You can withdraw it whenever you like, with the same effect as never having given it: see point 05.

03

The memory of your choice, and the other technical memory

The choice you make in the banner — accept or refuse — is kept in localStorage under the key av-consenso, so I don't ask you again on every page. It is not a cookie: it doesn't travel with requests to the server, nobody receives it, and you can change it whenever you like from point 05.

Then there is a second item, independent from this one: when you click on a project, the page you are leaving tells the one that opens where to start the animation from, with a message in sessionStorage under the key av-transizione. It stays in the tab, the page that arrives reads it and deletes it immediately, and in any case it disappears when you close the tab: strictly necessary to make work what you asked for by clicking, so it does not require consent.

04

The requests the browser makes outside this site

Besides Google, if you accept it, the page's two typefaces come from Adobe, and each request carries with it your IP address and the browser's technical data. The animation libraries and the 3D library, instead, sit on this site's own disk, and used to be requested from two CDNs.

Adobe Fonts: the two typefaces of the page. Adobe states that it does not set cookies for the delivery of web fonts.

Who processes this data and with what safeguards is in the privacy policy, at points 04 and 05.

Changing your mind, deleting, blocking

You can go back on the choice made in the banner at any time: the button below deletes it and asks you again from scratch.

From your browser settings you can also clear site data — cookies and local storage together — for this domain or for all, and block third-party cookies and scripts in advance.

Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.

Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.

Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.

Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

By blocking third-party requests the site stays readable and working: at most the typefaces change and the statistics don't start. No content disappears and the animations stay.
