Moda Immagine is a hair salon that presents itself as a luxury hair spa: the wording sits under the name in every application, and the line below is as wide as the one above. I handled the identity: logotype, monogram, correspondence stationery, signs, packaging, gift cards, images for the social profiles and the uniforms of the salon staff.

Two letters, one stem

In the monogram the M and the I share the same vertical stroke: the right stem of the M is also that of the I. It sits inside a roundel with a thin rule, and the wording rises vertically along its side. It goes where the full name would become illegible: the seal on the envelope, the apron pocket, the chest of the tunic.

Tall and narrow

The logotype is in a display serif with thin stems and very tall capitals. A few letters have the cut shifted: the A closes in a point, the final E has its top arm shortened. Below, LUXURY HAIR SPA in spaced capitals between two rules that reach the edges of the name.

The colour is a muted sage green. It is solid on the business card, while on the ivory-paper pieces the mark is blind-embossed, without ink, and reads by its relief. The wall plaque moves the same idea onto smoked plexiglass: the monogram stays transparent and changes with the light it catches.

The pattern is thin parallel lines that change curvature along the way, like combed locks of hair. On the shopper bags it fills the upper part and leaves the name at the bottom; on the apron it cuts on the diagonal; on the tunic it wraps around the waist. It is the only decoration of the system, and it never carries the name on its own.

I delivered mark and monogram in positive, negative and colour versions, in vector and bitmap, with letterhead, business cards, envelopes, gift vouchers, postcard, plaque, sign, two shopper sizes, apron, uniform and the images for the social profiles.
