Processing Community Day
Dynamic visual identity

Processing Community Day is a day dedicated to creative code. I worked on a dynamic identity: the palette and the shape of the mark stay fixed, everything else changes. The mark becomes a container, and inside it go the works of people who actually work with Processing.
The container
I drew the three letters of the mark as cut-outs: an image passes through them. On the tickets each person has their own, on the postcard the cut-out hosts a photograph. The shape stays the same, the content changes with every application.
The texture
The graphics were generated by an algorithm: a few elements on a grid, varying in rotation and size. From there come ever-different solutions — posters, postcards, ribbons — recognisable because the grid and the four colours never move.
Stop-motion of the book Dynamic Identities: An Analysis being leafed through: the black cover with the DI monogram and the title in orange, then the inner pages with the project's photographs and the pcd mark.
The book
The project is featured in Dynamic Identities: An Analysis by Sergio Corini, which proposes a classification system for dynamic visual identities.
